We eat at least 3 meals everyday. At least, everyone eats. Meals are just part and parcel of life. So this blog is created by a food lover to other food lovers like me out there.

Lou Wong, Berlin's & Healy Mac's.

Lou Wong, a name that pop's out in most Malaysians' minds when Ipoh food is asked. No one makes the best chicken with beansprouts better than Ipoh but the question is it's Lou Wong the best place to get "Nga Choi Kai"? That's subjective. Many Ipohans do not agree with Lou Wong being the best restaurant, so am I. Today, I'm not here to cover Lou Wong but just a journey of food stuffing that I have to continue. So, here are some pictures of what we ate that day.

Pork meatballs.

Ipoh's best beansprouts.

Chicken Leg. This one is something different about this chicken feet is  the sauce that goes with it. We would usually see a dark soaked chicken feet but this, this is just different. Instead of being dark, it's actually light coloured. it's actually cooked with herbal some sort. The taste is just Awesome!

The next place is Berlin's Bier Houz. A place where good food and beer meets. It's not just a normal bar where beer is served with crappy food, but it's a really nice place for food too=)

Ice Blended Cappuccino.

Spicy Sliced Pork.

This is the sauce that makes it spicy. We actually ordered extra sauce for just a row of thin sliced pork.

Fried Meatballs.

The final wrap up place is Healy Mac's, another bar that has good food besides beer. I have something to confess. I'm not trying to exaggerate or trying to be a good boy online but I have never been to any bars and have beers at night before. Maybe, I have been to several bars at night to have lunch but not actually go there for beer. So, I can say that I have no interest at all looking out for bars or any pubs around Ipoh. My initial concept is, if it's a place for beers and entertainment, the food must be not their target. I mean what's the point of preparing food that only cost less than a bucket of beer which you can literally take it out of the fridge and serve it in a bucket? But this place really open up my eyes, proving that my theory all this while was wrong.

This is the spare ribs. Although this is the only dish we've ordered  (because we were too damn full) but  There are actually a lot more interesting food served here!

This bar is also entertained by three awesome singers singing for us throughout our last small dish.
So this covers our one meal journey in almost 7 restaurants all together. I really have to workout more and loose some of my fats before the next trail starts=)

Wendy's, TGV Cinemas & Charmy Snow Ice

This post covers the next few stops we've been. Straight after Pancake House International, we head to what's opposite of it, Wendy's.

Wendy's is one of the many fast food outlets in Malaysia. This Wendy's here is in fact the first outlet in the whole Ipoh where McDonald's and KFC had open several outlets here. Wendy's is something different for Ipoh people as there were only a minute number of different types of fast food outlets here. I personally feel that the chillis were just awesomely amazing for a fast food outlet standard. The mixture of different beans stewed with minced beef is just awesome. The rich taste of everything in your mouth is just pure sensation. However, I find other food sold in Wendy's is just so so only. Neither too fancy nor too tasty.

Fries with chilli and cheese.

Awesome Chilli.

Popcorn in candy bars is a common thing in cinemas. It's not particularly attractive but the business never fail no matter how cranky the taste of the popcorn can be because it's a social norm for most to have a tub of popcorn by their side to munch in a movie. For me, it's a MUST to have popcorn in a movie. I can't really go in to the theater without holding one tub of it. Sometimes, I refuse to share with anyone and have the tub wholly to myself. This selfish me would just sit there and chew non stop. It's just addictive and interesting to have something to eat especially when the movie is less of it. Andrew, a friend of mine taught me something that I never thought before even it's so possible, buying popcorn to munch without watching a movie. I didn't know I can actually cure my desire for popcorn without spending RM14 for a movie ticket in TGV. I mean not that I don't realize that it is possible but it's just that this thing  never came into my mind at all.

Back to the topic, so we went up to the floor where TGV is and saw people holding tubs of Popcorn Royale. It's just heaven for caramel lovers. I use to search for the crunchiest and the most coated piece in the tub but Popcorn Royale is just a dream come true. Every single piece of popcorn is just generously coated with caramel. However, there's just one weakness, it's too rich that makes it too sweet. For diabetophobia, you may have to skip this one.

This is the Popcorn Royale by TGV Cinemas!

One bite of the sumptuous caramel  coated piece!

Next is this another shop I'll never set my foot in. It's called Charmy. It offers quite a number of kinds of food. From bubble tea to crepe and of course snow ice. It's not that charmy. It's just a evolved ice cream pallor.

This is Pepermint Blend with pearl. Every sip of it taste like you are gargling on Listerine. So definitely not my choice as I'm not a fan of minty drinks, at least not this one.

Pancake House International @ Aeon, Station 18

This is one of the shop I hardly lay my attention of after my countless visit to Aeon, Station 18. The Pancake House International was just another expensive dining place where you pay more for the plate than the the food on the plate. Besides, it's a non-popular shop in the whole of Aeon. It seemed to be empty all the time I past by there. Hardly you could see people dining inside the restaurant. For people here, paying so much for a piece of dough with some syrup on it is just a waste of dough. Well, that's what everyone and I assume all this time until I step in there and have my first look and taste at the Pancake House.

Yup... It's empty... it's just us. Good for me to tale photo but bad for their business.

Classic Pancake at RM6.5 for 2 pieces

Walnut at RM7.9 for 2 pieces.

Basically it all looks the same but the taste is just different.

From top, sesame seeds bun, melted cheddar slice, grilled chicken strip, white button mushroom, juicy tender and meaty beef patty, crunchy cucumber slices, savory tomato slices and fresh lettuce.
Club burger!  It is also accompanied with fries and salad.
The one bite is just splendid. You can literally feel every bit in your mouth.

Overall, it's a place you should consider trying The Pancake House as the best dishes here does not only lie in the pancake alone but the burgers too!
